Flash Back Friday: WILL YOU JUST STOP?!?!?!

I'm going to keep it pretty simple today. This is Nathaniel at 5 days olf being held by my sister, his Aunt Debbie. This is probably one of my favorite pictures. I'm sure that he was just yawning, but it looks like he is yelling at her. You see, just before I too this picture she had been smothering him with kisses and love... he was trying to sleep. lol

Enjoy!!

WIP Wednesday: Cozy Cuddly

Good Morning!!!

Today I woke up to SNOW!! Big fat flakes of that fluffy wet white stuff. We have had lots of snow over the last couple years and this time its the GOOD stuff. Perfect for snow balls and snow men. If it sticks around I'll take Nathaniel out later. But for now, ON TO THE WIP!!!

I bought some Lion Brand Homespun yarn 8 or so months ago to make my self a throw blanket and never really got far on it. Then a few days ago I decided to pull it apart and start over using an actual pattern. Don't let the pictures fool you... the yarn might not look purple, but it IS. The color is called Gothic.

I have also been trying to use up some of my stash of yarn to make room for more lol and started this ripple blanket a few weeks ago. Its not real big right now, I figure I have about 90 rows or so left to do.

And then I'll have to add a border which I'm sure will be just a simple single stitch. I'm just not sure what color I'll use. I'm thinking white... what do you think?

Happy Wednesday!!

My Love

First off, Happy Valentine's Day to all of my wonderful readers!!

This is mine and Josh's 6th Valentine's Day together... our second with our LOVELY son. And even though we aren't doing anything special he has to work and my date tonight is my mom I still don't hate the day. I woke up this morning to find a short but VERY sweet post on my Face Book wall from Josh expressing his love for me. TOTALLY melted my heart, he's not the sappy lovey dovey kinda guy, but he is my guy and I love him.

I can still remember our first Valentine's day. I managed to sneak his Letterman jacket out of his house and took it to have the rest of his patches put on for his gift. We made plans to go to Red Robin for dinner and then out to see a scary movie. He had just gotten a new job and had orientation that day. When he didn't show up at the time he was supposed to I felt pretty let down. Like SERIOUSLY, how could some one I had been with for 6+ months really be standing me up!!! I ended up going to bed and crying... until he called. His orientation  lasted 8 hours!!! So I wiped away my tears and we went out. Dinner sucked, the service sucked, and you guessed it.. the movie sucked!! As a matter of fact, the movie sucked SO BAD that we left before it was over!! To this day its still one of my FAVORITE Valentine's Days. LOL

Josh, if you read this and I know you probably won't lol I love you more then words can say. You are my sun, moon, and stars, the love of my life, and the father of my son. Happy Valentines Day!!!

Fabulous Friday!

Since finishing the Seahawks blanket for my nephew I've been kinda burnt out on single crochet 13,468 will do that, ya know. I have been peeking at this pattern on ravelry.com for a while now and finally decided to go for it. This purse is called "Get Your Granny On" and the pattern can be found here.

I made a couple changes and made my squares bigger then the ones she did and I made the strap long enough so the purse can be worn like a messenger bag. I chose this red button that's older then me, I might add from my Granny's small stash in her sewing kit. Gives the purse a vintage feel doesn't it? And, by using this button I feel like I have her with me.

Ok, enough babble... here are the pics!

Well?? What do you think?

REVEAL: Two Super Secret Project Completed

I have been working on a couple of "secret" projects for the last few weeks and I FINALLY completed them. The first one I completed was a little Chihuahua for my brother Jacob's birthday. I actually started it for him for Christmas, but I obviously didn't get it done in time. And once Christmas passed it kind of took the back burner. My son, Nathaniel, named the chihuahua Lucy. Lucy is my moms chihuahua that just happens to be black and white also. What do you think?

This next project is a blanket for my new nephew, Noah. Noah was born last month and hes SO adorable. Anywho, The blanket. If you have me on your FaceBook you might have seen me complaining about how hard it has been for me to write my own pattern. This blanket would be the pattern. I wanted to make something for Noah that not only by brother and sister-in-law would love, but something he would love too. I spent a good 4 hours one night just trying to figure out how I was going to do it and once I figured it out I went nuts working on it. lol

Here it is, my very first blanket made from my VERY own pattern. I don't know yet if I'm going to share this pattern or not. What do you think?

Keep in mind that anything that looks black is actually green. I took this picture with my cell phone and it didn't pick up the green real well.

Flash Back Friday: Happy Birthday Jacob!

Today is my baby brothers 12th birthday... as hard as it is to believe. LOL I going to keep this one real short because I'm still trying to finish Jacob's birthday present. This is one of my favorite pictures of Jacob when he was just under 3 and a half years old. It was in 2002 and he put on Buddy's graduation cap. Needless to say, Jacob made it look good. LOL

Enjoy!!

Happy 12th Birthday, Jacob!!! I love you so much!!

WIP Wednesday: Slippers

A couple days ago I decided to make my self a pair of slippers since I've managed to lose mine. I found this cute pattern on Ravelry.com and decided to give it a try. I had a skeen and a half of this pretty blue/grey/purple verigated Vanna's Choice yarn and decided to use it. What do you think?

They are comfortable, but not as warm as I'd hoped. Although that might be because I used a medium weight yarn rather then a worsted weight the pattern called for. Also, they kinda hurt to stand in... lol.

While I was making them Nathaniel started bugging me to let him try them on. So, my Work In Progress are his slippers. I found this pattern on Ravelry too and it just happens to be by the same person. I had to add a few rows cause my son has big toddler feet, but so far he loves them... even though I only have one done.
